Latest PR is an independent cigar magazine covering the world of the leaf in three sections — News, Reviews, and Culture.

We write for readers who already know a Maduro from a Connecticut and want coverage with something behind it: sourced reporting, honest tasting notes, and writing about the culture of the cigar that doesn't read like a press release. We are not a catalog and not a fan page. When we praise a cigar we say why; when we don't, we say that too.

News

Releases, industry moves, trade-show floors, and the policy and regulation that shape premium tobacco — reported with dates, named sources, and attribution. When a company won't comment, we say so. We treat “industry sources estimate” as the unverified estimate it is, not as fact.

Reviews

Cigars reviewed the way a sommelier reviews wine: cold draw to nub, calibrated, and earned across more than one stick. Every review ends with a plain verdict — buy it, age it, or skip it. We don't inflate scores, and we don't publish a number off a single smoke.

Culture

The lounges, festivals, pairings, and rituals around the leaf — scene-led reporting from people who were in the room. Real meals and real bars, not “try a smooth Connecticut with a chardonnay.”

How articles get written

Every article on Latest PR is written under a named author byline. Our writers come from inside the cigar world — a trade-newsletter reporter, a certified Maître Tabac who ran a lounge program for eleven years, a travel-and-food journalist who turned the same eye on the leaf. Each keeps their own beat and voice; a full contributor list is linked from the foot of every article.

Numerical claims — prices, ring gauges, RH percentages, vintages — are grounded in sources cited inline. Where we make a recommendation we say why; where the evidence is mixed we say that too. We never bold keywords for SEO theatre, never write “the perfect cigar for any occasion,” and never publish anything we wouldn't read ourselves.

Independence

When an article recommends a specific cigar, the link goes to whichever retailer currently carries it at the price our writers think it's worth. We may earn a commission on those outbound links; that arrangement does not influence which cigars are recommended or how they are scored. We don't accept paid placements, sponsored reviews, or product samples in exchange for coverage.
